Hand Washing Ceremony

Mayyim.png

We are grateful to our partner, Mayyim Hayyim, for contributing this ritual.

During Rosh Chodesh—the New Moon at the start of a Hebrew month—we are reminded of the natural rhythms of our daily lives. These rhythms, constant as they are, provide a steadiness to our days and months, even as the world around us changes, and changes us along with it.

With this hand washing ritual, we use Kos Miryam, Miriam’s Cup, to remind ourselves that we are holy, that we can be healed, and that we can be grateful for the moment at which we have arrived.
